About the Wanderer

Hi, I'm Mateusz, Senior Gameplay Programmer at Moon Studios, currently working full time on No Rest for the Wicked. Previously shipped 5+ titles across PC and Console, specializing in Gameplay Architecture and Performance.

I built the Wanderbyte blog to document my personal research into architectural and production problems of triple-A game development.

This site is a collection of case studies, audits, and architectural deep-dives into the performance bottlenecks that plagued various productions.

My main Realm

No Rest For the Wicked is a multiplayer action RPG game. This has been my longest adventure since I've been participating in it since 2022 as a Gameplay Tech team member.

I joined the project at the early stage of development (the post-prototype phase) - during the time I managed to rework most of the core gameplay systems - balance, itemization, combat, etc.

We just released a multiplayer update, and the game passed the threshold of more than 1 million copies sold and 63k simultaneous players.

My list of adventures keeps growing. Each of them has been a massive source of knowledge, fun, and awesome people I had the pleasure to collaborate with.

I am truly grateful for every single game on this list. They shaped my experience and are helping me fulfill the dream of creating my own digital worlds that we can all wander in together.
